White Americans no longer a majority of the U.S. population by 2043. This
forecast was presented on Wednesday, December 12, the Bureau of the
Census of the United States, reports the Associated Press. White
displace primarily descendants of Latin American immigrants who came to
the U.S. in the 1990's - early 2000's, as in these sections of the
population is very high birth rate.
Back
in 1960, whites accounted for 85 percent of U.S. citizens, but the
balance began to change after the adoption of new immigration laws in
1965, which opened the door to the U.S. people from Latin America and
Asia. By
the year 2000 the number of white dropped to 69 percent, and now stands
at about 64 percent of the nearly 315 millionth population.
A time when minority children become the majority in the U.S., will result in the 2019. This
process actually began in 2011, when children under the year born to
members of national and ethnic minorities, has more than white children
of the same age.
Current forecasts are white, non-Hispanic population of the U.S. will peak at 200 million by 2024 and then begin to fall. As for the general population, according to Census Bureau estimates, it will reach 420.3 million in 2060, the year. In
this case, whites will make up 43 percent of the citizens, Hispanics -
31 percent, African Americans - 14.7 percent, Asians - eight percent.
Demographic changes have a direct impact on policy in the country. Demonstrated
by the last presidential election, in which Barack Obama won, not least
thanks to the support of 78 percent of the non-white population, which
accounted for 28 percent of the total electorate.
